Fire Cider

Kick the Common Cold with Fire Cider! This is not for the faint of heart but it is sure to boost your immune system as we move into the winter season. Fire Cider can be used as a tonic or to help build your immune system.

Some health benefits are reducing inflammation with Turmeric and opening up the sinus channels with Horseradish!

As a tonic, take 1-2 tablespoon a day to help boost your immune system

Increase the amount until you reach a dose of a small shot glass per day.

At the first sign of feeling ill, take 12 tablespoons several times a day

You can add the fire cider to a little bit of water or take it straight up. You can add honey to sweeten if needed

START OF SLOWLY and let your body get used to the hot-spicy-sweet brew and make sure to eat something before you take this powerful cider! You may opt to avoid close conversations and kissing after taking this tonic. Just kidding/not kidding.

Ingredients:

32oz raw apple cider vinegar

1 chopped onion

½ cup grated ginger

½ grated horseradish

10 cloves crushed garlic

2 jalapeno peppers, chopped (can use cayenne pepper instead)

1 tablespoon turmeric powder or ¼ cup grated turmeric root

¼ cup honey

Variations: can also add lemon or orange slices or echinacea root

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a large mason jar, pack down and pour the apple cider vinegar on top. Cover with a tight-fitting lid.

Place jar in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks or up to a month.

Shake several times a day

When the fermenting is done, strain the liquid through a cheesecloth. Get every last drop!!!

Add honey to taste and then re bottle into a new jar and refrigerate.

The pulp is reusable (add to stir fry, soups or salads)

Some people add this to a bit of water to consume. Always choose freshest and organic ingredients.
